“Zoo” by Benjamín Moncloa

$18,69

In Zoo, Moncloa constructs a rectangular composition that reveals a geometric entity whose configuration is subject to changing forms that use different kinds of angles. Here he manages to introduce both serenity and dynamism to his work. He also uses contrasting colors and places them in dialogue with an enigmatic and dominant pink. This painting was included in Moncloa’s first exhibition in Paris in 1956. French criticism located Moncloa within the tradition of Auguste Herbin, while also praising the peculiarity of the artist’s deployment of strong colors that literally leap out towards the viewer.
