Teresa Burga (Iquitos, Peru, 1935 – Lima, Peru, 2021) studied at the School of Art of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (1965) and obtained an M.A in Art by the Chicago Art Institute (1970). In her work the artist makes use of various experimental processes to produce different ways of rereading the environment. Burga was part of the nucleus of Peruvain avant-garde artists immersed in a brief period of visual experimentation in the 1960s that was in tune with international plastic tendencies. Her works have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world and are part of public and private collections.
