Francisco Laso

Through his work, the painter Francisco Laso de los Ríos, was not limited to depicting local subjects, instead he raised a lucid reflection on the Peruvian society of his time. The painter’s participation in contemporary politics and his relations with a young generation of liberal intellectuals helped define his sense of commitment.
