Benjamín Moncloa (Lima, Peru, 1927-2018) studied at the Jean Dewasne’s workshop in Paris between 1953 and 1956. After his return to Lima, he organized the 1st Abstract Art Salon with Eduardo Moll. In 1965 he moved to New York and in 1971 he directed the erotic art movement “The Underground”. In 1979 he entered the engraving workshop Taller 72 where he worked with Jorge Ara. He exhibited at the Gothenburg Museum of Art (1958); Lima Art Museum (1958, 1999) and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Lima (1957). He also participated in the I Mexico Biennial (1959).
